Iron Sharpens Iron
Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.
I have a passion for knives, especially sharp ones. Handling a sharp knife while cooking is something I truly enjoy, as it allows me to cut, dice, and mince with ease. In contrast, using a dull knife makes meal preparation tedious and time-consuming. Moreover, a dull blade is hazardous, as it can slip or skip, increasing the risk of injury. Similarly, a man without the right friends around him is at a disadvantage. As the passage suggests, a true friend has the ability to sharpen and improve those around him. This skill must be cultivated and taught from a biblical perspective, as it aligns with God’s expectations.
God commands men to meet regularly, fostering an atmosphere of accountability, responsibility, and camaraderie. When we gather, we hear from God and each other, encouraging, uplifting, and strengthening one another. Is it too much to ask a Kingdom Man to pray, stand, and fight? Not always in that order. It’s time, men. Take your place in the Kingdom and become all that the Heavenly Father wants you to be. The old saying, “Uncle Sam Needs You,” needs to change. It’s not about Uncle Sam; it’s about helping men understand their essential role in the Kingdom. Men! Compass is calling you! God is inviting you to be part of a movement that is calling males to be MEN.
