Iron Sharens Iron

Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.

I like knives. I really like a sharp knife. One thing that I enjoy when cooking is handling a sharp knife. It lets me cut, dice, and mince foods like all get-out. When a knife is dull, the job of preparing a meal is long and laborious. The task of preparing a meal is much longer then it needs to be. A dull blade is also dangerous. The knife can slip out my hands or skip potentially causing me to cut myself.  So too is a man who does not have the right kind of friends around him. As the passage says, my friend is one who has to ability to sharpen me and the men he is around. This ability must be learned and taught from a biblical perspective. This is what God expects.
God commands men to meet on a regular basis. When men gather together, it creates an atmosphere of accountability, responsibility, and camaraderie. We gather to hear from God and each other.  We gather to encourage, uplift, and strengthen one another. Is it too much to ask a Kingdom Man to pray, stand, and fight. Not always in that order.  It's time men.  Take your place in the Kingdom and become all that the Heavenly Father wants you to be. The old saying, "Uncle Sam Need You" needs to change. It is not about Uncle Sam it is about helping men understand their essential role in the Kingdom. Men! The Kingdom Needs You! God is inviting you to be part of the Mens' Ministry at Vegas Christian Center.
